Free Coffee For Midhurst Mums

A great new partnership between St Margaret’s School and the Midhurst and Haslemere branch of the National Childbirth Trust kicked off on Monday 20th January with the NCT’s first monthly Midhurst coffee morning sponsored by the Midhurst school at Caffe Verdi in North Street.

The cafe filled with local mothers who came to meet and share experiences of new motherhood while enjoying a cup of coffee and a cake. Clare Warrender, Claire Kerr and Liz Reed, all NCT committee members and local residents, were on hand to talk about the help the NCT gives parents with the wonderful but sometimes overwhelming experience that can come with a new child.

The group was also joined by Annette Mathias, music teacher and Key Stage 1 music co-ordinator at St Margaret’s School, to talk about music for toddlers and pre-school children. Annette brought with her a variety of instruments for the little ones and the cafe filled with musical sounds as everyone joined in. Annette also spoke to the mums about the music group she runs on Wednesday mornings in The Nursery School at St Margaret’s in conjunction with the Parent and Toddler group. The group meets weekly from 9-11am and all are welcome to attend and join in the fun.

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful morning, which was a great way to raise awareness of the NCT in Midhurst. Due to the success of the event the NCT will be holding further coffee mornings sponsored by St Margaret’s on 9th February and 16th March at Caffe Verdi from 9.30am. Local parents and children are invited to come along and join in.
