St. Margaret's School was founded
by the Sisters of Mercy in 1888.
- It is a co-educational Catholic Day
School with approximately 205 girls and boys between
the ages of 2 and 11, with a strong ecumenical tradition
respecting the faiths and cultures of all members
of the Community.
- The school provides an excellent, well-balanced,
quality education within a happy secure atmosphere
based on sound Christian values.
- Pupils are drawn from a wide catchment
area which spans West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.
- The school serves Senior Independent
Schools in these areas.
The school is divided into:
- a Nursery department with boys and
girls from the age of two.
- a Pre-preparatory department - Key
Stage 1 pupils
- a Preparatory department - Key Stage
2 pupils.
St. Margaret's School is affiliated to
the Independent Schools Association (I.S.A.) and although
we are not obliged to follow the National Curriculum,
its targets are regarded as a basic foundation, which
we greatly extend by wider programmes of study.
Children transfer from our Nursery to
the Pre-preparatory department at the age of 4 and develop
within a challenging and supportive educational environment.
All children are encouraged to develop their talents
and to achieve their potential through an enriching
and stimulating curriculum.
