Pastoral Care

St. Margaret's School is a family school.

  • Our pastoral care is rooted in the belief that each person is unique and created in the image of a loving God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
  • There is a genuine rapport between staff, pupils, parents and the Sisters of Mercy.
  • The ethos and philosophy of St. Margaret's School originates in our faith in Christ.
  • As a Catholic school we provide a religious education according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Pupils of other Christian denominations and religious faiths are very welcome and make up a good proportion of pupil numbers. All pupils are united in their Christian purpose and feel part of a caring Christian family.
  • Pastoral care at St. Margaret's School is the care of the whole person. The school continually strives to maintain a kind, caring and compassionate Christian environment, and to promote great happiness, total safety, good all-round progress, exemplary conduct and smart appearance of our pupils. All members of the school community are encouraged to take an active interest in the development and needs of each person.

The child's own class teacher is responsible first of all for the pastoral care, general welfare, development and progress of the child during the school day. Additional non-teaching staff supervise the children at lunch time, assisted by a class teacher.
