We encourage pupils progressively to develop their ability to write for a range of purposes and audiences, including themselves. They will be taught to form letters correctly, leading to a fluent and legible cursive handwriting style. As confidence increases, so the contexts in which they are asked to write will become more sophisticated and a greater degree of control and accuracy will be expected.
