Religious Studies

Religious Education lessons are concerned with the development of the whole person and seek to promote a deeper knowledge, appreciation and understanding of Christ and his Gospels. We take into account diversities of belief and commitment, and relate to, and respect, other faiths, traditions and their ways of expressing the significance of human life.

As a Catholic School we aim to ensure that all pupils experience what it is to be part of a caring Christian community thus enabling them to:

  • form and enjoy good relationships with peers and adults in the school community.
  • come to know that God loves each one always and at all times.
  • come to know Jesus is God the Father's son.
  • come to know Jesus as the Son of God.
  • hear the stories of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.
  • know they are special within their family and the community.
  • recognise that a church is a special place where God's people gather to worship and celebrate.
  • come to appreciate their friendship with Jesus through baptism.
  • come to know that Sunday is a special day.
  • have respect for everyone, irrespective of ability, race or religion.

Assemblies, Class Liturgies and Mass play an important part in the life of our school. Parents are invited whenever possible to join us for special Assemblies
